Here at brown beauty profile we're product junkies and unashamed!
It feels great to support small businesses and hard working women of color.
We chose some of our favorite jewelry brands and one nail polish brand that are being created and sold by women of color.
We caught up with some of them and asked them about their brands!
"My business has been open since 2010, with a hiccup of hiatus in 2015. After our hiccup, I reevaluated what my mission was; why I started, and why I wanted to continue is and always about creating and connecting. What ZAAHAJ does is connecting is not only gives me the chance to travel, create, and connect but it gives others the inspiration to do so also. We may only look as if we are a jewelry brand right now, but we have so much more to offer...and jewelry is not and won't be the half of it." - ZAAHAJ
"During my pregnancy I had the hardest time finding non-toxic and fashion-forward nail polish. I actually didn’t polish my nails during the first six months of my pregnancy. It was during that time that I decided to that I would launch Mischo Luxury Nail Lacquer, a 5FREE, non-toxic, cruelty-free nail lacquer collection.
The line is 5FREE, which means it contains no formaldehyde, no formaldehyde resin, no toluene, no DBP and no camphor. These are all harmful toxins responsible for causing birth defects, reproductive issues and cancer. Toxins such as these should be nowhere near your nails." Mischo Beauty
NÜN is inspired by my personal quest to want more and to be more. I feel the jewelry carries a feeling of strength and delicacy that many women can relate too. We all have an exceptional light that is unique to us and inside of us. NÜN's intention is to magnify that light creating visual radiance within and without the adorned. The line is inspired by the way light moves within space, as well as around and inside our bodies. -NÜN
